SwissRX Synthesis - Week #3 Update

Another week down. Similar training flow, but I did take 2 days off-the-bike at the beginning of the week. I was able to generate some fatigue from training on the remaining 5 days, but did feel it more as "system-wide fatigue" as opposed to "leg-centric" fatigue. The legs did feel pretty decent on Sunday after a 5hr ride on Saturday that had some hard bits. That said, Sunday was not a hard ride so there was no real "test" of the leg fatigue.

Again here's the promised results/effects:

Weeks 3-6: Breaking through strength plateaus and improved performance

Overall, I still don't think I can detect any significant changes in on-the-bike feel, performance or recovery. This could mean Synthesis does nothing or it could be highlighting the difficulty in detecting marginal gains.

I am not sure what "plateau breakthroughs" would look like on the bike. My first thought is that the most likely candidate would be to see increases peak power or 5-sec power. This is because the peptides seem to be more geared towards muscle-based changes and most of the promotional language refers to "strength" effects. Sprinting power is where muscle strength is most relevant on the bike and often where cyclists see a benefit after a focused strength training program in the gym. I have been making a point to include several short maximal bursts (5-7 secs) during multiple rides per week. I suppose I'll need to examine the ride data a little closer and see if I am seeing any increase in the power values. (I plan to review a recent study that showed similar peripheral muscle benefits when comparing gym-based strength work to on-the-bike strength work).

Unlike most supplements with marginal benefits, Synthesis delivers what we call an “acute response”— you’ll know it’s working through noticeably improved recovery within 2 weeks and in our case, breakthrough strength gains within 4-8 weeks when combined with intense training.

Obviously, this has NOT been my experience. It would be nice to know what qualifies as "intense training". I am not sure that I have been doing "intense training", but it has been intense enough to generate fatigue and a training effect.

I have one more week in this bottle and then I'll have a make a decision about continuing through 60 days, or testing a "flush out" period and see if I feel worse after stopping.

So far I would not recommend this, especially at $1.50-2.00 per day. Of course, if this cost is a non-issue for you, then I would say why not give it a shot and see if your experience is different.
